Texas Instruments didn't get DLP 3D Checkerboard format into HDMI standard; so "3D Ready" turned out to mean no 3D without more or special hardware.

Pansonic was kind enough to add 3D Checkerboard support into some Blu-ray players.

Mitsubishi released 3DA-1 converter (no glasses) for their DLP sets and early units worked with Samsung DLP sets but later units stopped working unless EDID Spoofing hardware or TV service menu hacks were used.

Mitsubishi followed up with 3DC-1000 Starter Kit (2 pair glasses) but still no Samsung support without EDID Spoofing.

Mitsubishi followed up with 3DC-100S Starter Kit (2 pair glasses) adding limited Samsung TV set support, see 3DC-100S PDF Specification Sheet, 2nd page.

Double nice, the 3DC-100S Owner's Guide says, "...can also be used with Samsung 3D glasses model SSG-2100AB."; which is great and coincidentally the supplied glasses look like SSG-2100AB but without Samsung branding. I'll bet...


I think, explains the few gripe regards 3DC-100S 3D Starter Kit Samsung Mitsubishi DLP TVs not fitting or leaking.
