Review : Heartily recommended - especially if they have a Pioneer AVR
I am surprised that no one has written a review for the Pioneer BDP-62FD, but it may be because the Elite badged items are typically sold though retailers and installers, as opposed to on-line sources. I purchased mine at a local Best Buy - the unit had a nice price for the holidays and, frankly, I wanted to be able to return the item easily if I wasn't satisfied.

It could also be because previous Elite Blu-ray players (not Blue Ray, as it's listed on Amazon :-) had some quality issues that you can read a lot of material about on various home theater forums, like AVS.

I still have the 62-FD and love it. It loads discs incredibly fast, is extremely quiet during playback (I sit right next to the player) and it looks great in the component stack.

For the price, it's nicely positioned as what I would consider a high-end Blu-ray player (if you eliminate the ridiculous 'reference' units that used to sell for $4,000 - that market segment is long gone, given...


I think, explains the few grievance about Pioneer Elite Wi-Fi Ready Blu-ray 3D Player not fitting or leaking.
